Accomplished Writer, Actor and Stand up Comedian
Hal Cruttenden is one of the UK’s top comedians as well as being a highly accomplished writer and actor. Hal has hosted Live at the Apollo and appeared on The Royal Variety Performance, Would I Lie to You? and Have I Got News For You. He has also written and performed in his own Radio 4 sitcom Hal.
"Nominated for the prestigious Perrier and The Chortle Awards in February 2015"
Having originally trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama, his acting career includes roles on TV and film in Shackleton, Eastenders, Out of the Blue, Touching Evil and Bramwell. Film credits include: The Madness of King George and Mrs Dalloway. Theatre work includes Making News at the Edinburgh Festival and ‘Orwell’ – A Celebration at Trafalgar Studios London and the Edinburgh Festival. Internationally, Hal’s travelled across Canada on the Just for Laughs Comedy tours. He has also performed shows at the Kilkenny Cat Laughs Festival. Other international comedy tours include India, Bermuda, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Ireland, comedy clubs in the Middle East and venues all over Far East Asia.
Refreshingly honest, energetic, consistent and very funny, Hal Cruttenden takes his own world of the cosy English middle classes, rummages around and pulls out some remarkably dark humour that he finds lurking at the bottom. Certainly not a typical comedian, he actively sets out to attack and dismantle, thus opening up obvious new ways of seeing the world.
