Professor Ian Goldin, an internationally respected economist and development visionary, is currently Director of the Oxford Martin Research Programmes on Technological and Economic Change, Future of Work and Future of Development. He is also Professor of Globalisation and Development and holds a professorial fellowship at Balliol College at the University of Oxford.

Professor Ian Goldin’s extensive career includes serving as Vice President at the World Bank, where he managed relations with the UK and European nations and played a key role in collaborating with the UN. He also served as CEO of the Development Bank of South Africa, advised Nelson Mandela and oversaw finances for South Africa’s 2020 Olympic bid. He was also Principal Economist at the EBRD and Programme Director for the OECD in Paris, focusing on trade and sustainable development. Ian has earned recognition from the French Government and numerous awards. He is author and presenter of three BBC series: "After the Crash," "Will AI Kill Development," and "The Pandemic that Changed the World." Currently, he provides advisory and consultancy services to various international organisations and governments.
