Weber serves as the President of the Center for Financial Studies at Goethe University Frankfurt since July 2022 and also serves as Chairman of the Trilateral Commission Europe, promoting dialogue and collaboration among Europe, North America, and Asia. Furthermore, Weber is a member of the Group of Thirty (G30). His strategic vision helped steer UBS through various market challenges and regulatory changes. He was the President of Deutsche Bundesbank from 2004 to 2011. As the head of Germany’s central bank, he played a crucial role during the global financial crisis, contributing to policy decisions that had a significant impact on both the German and broader European economies. Additionally, Weber has held international roles including being a member of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank (ECB), a member of the Financial Stability Board (FSB), and Chairman of the Group of Central Bank Governors and Heads of Supervision (GHOS), overseeing the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision.
