Bill Nye currently serves as CEO of the Planetary Society, a non-profit organization that supports and promotes the continued exploration of space, a field Nye has directly contributed to through his development of the MarsDial, a sundial that was used to calibrate the Mars landers’ Pancam cameras. Bill became the national spokesperson for science education due to his hit 1990s television show for children, Bill Nye the Science Guy and in 2017, Bill released his talk show Bill Nye Saves the World on Netflix examining current issues such as climate change or vaccinations through a scientific lens. Bill fights to raise awareness of climate change and the value of critical thinking, science, and reason.
