Former Internationally Renowned Footballer
Michael Owen is a former England International footballer who represented some of the world’s biggest clubs including Liverpool and Real Madrid. In a career that spanned 17 years, he won eight club trophies and the 2001 Ballon d’Or. He was a true jewel in England’s crown playing a major part in England’s fortunes.
"Football’s golden boy"
He began his career at Liverpool and scored 11 times to help the youth side win the FA Youth Cup for the first time before he scored on his first-team debut in 1997. He retained the golden boot in the 1998/99 campaign before he won the League Cup, UEFA Cup and FA Cup in 2001. He also won the Ballon d’Or as a reward for his individual performances. Michael won the League Cup in his final year at Liverpool as he left the club for Real Madrid. Since retiring Michael has been a pundit and co-commentator for BT Sports, covering the Premier League, Champions League, and the FA Cup. Michael currently owns racehorses who have enjoyed successful careers as well, including a win at Royal Ascot in 2011.
